Joginder Singh (1971, Delhi, India)
Photographer-Architect Joginder is enchanted by shape and structure. Certainly informed by his architectural background, but no less influenced by a bent for the romantic, Joginder thoroughly understands his subject matter. In his photographs light, natural and man-made materials cooperate to create compositions that lure the viewer into mysterious realms. A sun-lit wall assumes theatrical characteristics, a curtain reminds of gallant knights at medieval courts.
Joginder’s double love of architecture and photography has already resulted in an exclusive book on Traditional Kerala Architecture (Rupa, 2006) and has gained him important photography commissions from architects and interior designers. He has curated a photography exhibition on Delhi’s by-lanes, held a solo exhibition in Goa and was selected for an international cultural exchange program with The Netherlands. He is a visiting faculty (photography) of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Delhi.
Joginder is B. Arch from the Marathwada Institute of Technology, Marathwada University, Aurangabad.
