Khushroo Kalyanwala (Ahmedabad, India - 1960)
After completing his Bachelor of Architecture from The School of Architecture (CEPT), Ahmedabad, Khushroo pursued a career as architect and interior designer.
Being a fairly serious collector of art, and with his keen interest in photography and painting, it was only natural for Khushroo to foray into digital art. He feels that the recent trend of art works continuously being titled as “Untitled” – especially non figurative abstract works- can be endlessly debated. Whether today’s non figurative abstract art is just a composition of varied colours and forms, composed through various mediums or is the culmination of an expression of a deeper meaning and understanding of the artist. He compares abstract art to jazz music. “A jazz musician may render his music through different instruments and mediums and the music may be interpreted in different ways at different times”, he says . This made him produce “Colour and Form- The abstract haze of reality”, where all his works are actual photographs with the sole intention of presenting them as art, abstract or otherwise. “They all are the output of a real subject matter and therefore will never be Untitled”, he says.
Khushroo currently lives and works in Delhi
